Criterion 2: Preparing for the Future
The organization's allocation of resources and its processes for evaluation and planning demonstrate its capacity to fulfill its mission, improve the quality of its education, and respond to future challenges and opportunities.
Core Component 2a: UCA realistically prepares for a future shaped by multiple societal and economic trends.
Key Questions
- How do we plan for the future? Who is involved in our planning processes? Internal and external constituents?
- What is our current capacity? How do we know? How do our planning processes and documents address current capacity?
- What are the most pressing societal and economic trends and needs impacting UCA? How well do our planning processes and documents deal with these trends and needs?
- How do we respond to unanticipated needs?
Examples of Evidence
Core Component 2b: UCA's resource base supports its educational programs and its plans for maintaining and strengthening its quality in the future.
Key Questions
- Are resources (human, physical, and fiscal) adequate to support our educational programs? How are these resources allocated?
- How do we plan for future resource needs?
Examples of Evidence
Core Component 2c: UCA’s ongoing evaluation and assessment processes provide reliable evidence of institutional effectiveness that clearly informs strategies for continuous improvement.
Key Questions
- What types of evaluation and assessment processes are in place (program reviews, faculty/staff evaluations, etc.)?
- How do we collect and analyze data? How is this data disseminated to individuals internal and external to UCA?
- How do we use existing evaluation and assessment processes for continuous improvement?

Core Component 2d: All levels of planning align with UCA's mission, thereby enhancing its capacity to fulfill its mission.
