Academic Annual Reports: ADAR and EAR
The Academic Department Annual Report (ADAR) presents information about departmental mission, achievements and goals, challenges and opportunities. The default review period for the ADAR is the calendar year, coinciding with the normal cycle for faculty performance review. The ADAR is due from the department chair to the dean by July 1 and from the dean to the provost by August 1. Colleges may set internal timelines as deans and chairs see fit.

The Enhanced Assessment Report (EAR) presents information about academic program inputs, outputs, and outcomes. The review period for the EAR is the ADHE Academic Year (Summer II, Fall, Spring, Summer I – with intersessions and parts of term included as appropriate). Much of the information about inputs and outputs is provided to departments by the Office of Institutional Research. Some of the inputs/outputs information and all of the outcomes information is provided by the departments themselves. Information from Institutional Research is available to departments on or before November 1. The EAR is due from the dean to the provost by January 15. Within those parameters, colleges may set internal timelines as deans and chairs see fit.
