Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program (IEP) at the University of Central Arkansas is an academic program in English as a second language for international students. It helps students acquire the skills needed to succeed in American colleges and universities. The IEP is dedicated to giving students the best instruction possible and has a highly trained, diversified and dedicated teaching staff who use the most current textbooks, supplementary materials, and instructional techniques in the field of language learning. Upon completion of the IEP, most students begin academic studies at UCA or other universities and colleges in the United States.

If you would like to enroll in the Intensive English Program (IEP), and you do not want to pursue an academic degree after completing the IEP, then you must submit the following items:

You must submit a letter from your sponsor's bank.  This letter must show your current balance and prove that you have at least $17,800.00 USD to pay for your first year of study.  The letter must be signed and certified by a bank official.  You will be responsible for maintaining this level of support because there is little to no financial assistance available to international students through the university.
You must have an official copy of your Diploma or Certificate of Graduation proving that you have finished all of your required secondary level education.

If you want to pursue an undergraduate bachelor degree after you complete the IEP, then you must submit all documents required for undergraduate admission.  You will not be required to submit a TOEFL score.
