Conditional Admission (IEP/Undergraduate)

If you want to apply for undergraduate admission but you do not meet the English proficiency requirements, then you can be conditionally admitted through the Intensive English Program.  Once you pass the highest level of the IEP or you successfully pass the TOEFL exam, then you may begin taking undergraduate classes in pursuit of your degree.  In order for you to be conditionally admitted as an IEP/Undergraduate student you must submit the following items:

You must submit a letter from your sponsor's bank.  This letter must show your current balance and prove that you have at least $17,800.00 USD to pay for your first year of study.  The letter must be signed and certified by a bank official.  You will be responsible for maintaining this level of support because there is little to no financial assistance available to international students through the university.
You must submit all of your official educational records in both your native language and English.  Copies of documents certified by appropriate school officials are also accepted.  Notarized copies are not accepted as official documents.

If this will be your first year of university level study then you must submit your complete secondary school transcripts, which must include your final grades or marks.  To be admitted to UCA you must have the equivalent of a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4 point scale.

You must also send certified copies of your Diploma or Certificate of Graduation.

If you received your secondary education in a country in Africa, then you must also submit either your Baccalaureate scores or your WAEC results.

If you have questions about the IEP Program (curriculum, classes offered, etc.), please contact Lynn Schaefer, IEP Director, at lynnr@uca.edu.
